FBC Firebreak Breakpoint Update Set For September 29, Adds Crisis Board, Gun Mods & Outbreak Crisis

Remedy has announced that it will release the Breakpoint update for FBC: Firebreak on September 29, 2025, which will introduce a wealth of new content to the shooter including the Crisis Board (replacing the old Job Board), revamped economy, and various quality-of-life-improvements.

Among the new content is the addition of Outbreak, a brand new Crisis mission set in the Research Sector where new challenges and enemies are presented to players as a result of a Mold infestation. Meanwhile, the Crisis Board offers curate Crises for players to tackle, offering a more dynamic and less predictable gameplay experience for FBC: Firebreak players. Four-to-six Crises can be active globally lat any time, including full runs to shorter Jobs and Corrupted Jobs, featuring randomised rewards and objectives.

In addition to the above, Gun Mods are also available with the new update, with 27 available in total allowing you to shape your loadout and outfit firearms with a new layer of progression. Speaking of weapons, three new heavy firearms are going to be released with the update, namely Semi-automatic rifle, Scattergun, and Rotary Cannon).

Meanwhile, the quality-of-life changes include:

  • Players now have access to full Crisis Kits from level 1, meaning their Altered Augments and Improvised Devices are already unlocked
  • Devices and Augments are usable more frequently and tuned to feel stronger and more impactful in play
  • Harmful Conditions are now visually more readable and no longer spread between players—no more reviving a burning teammate only to catch fire and repeat the cycle.
  • Sliding and moving while downed for greater mobility and survivability

FBC: Firebreak was released back in June 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, although its critical reception was lukewarm and the game suffered from issues on release. Remedy later stated that they have a ‘solid game to build on‘ with FBC: Firebreak, but was ‘unsatisfied’ with sales during its launch phase.
