When we first began developing Karma: The Dark World, we never imagined it would come this far. This project began in a tiny studio in Shanghai — just three of us, sitting back-to-back, pouring our souls into this strange idea born from pain and memory. For us, this is nothing short of a dream coming true.
We’re incredibly excited to announce that Karma: The Dark World is launching today for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. This platform has long been a home for creativity and bold narrative experiences. And now, we finally have the chance to share the full vision of our psychological thriller with the Xbox community.
A game about memory, identity, and the price of obedience
Karma: The Dark World a narrative-driven psychological horror game set in a parallel 1984-like dystopia. You play as an agent of the Leviathan Corporation, a powerful and oppressive force that controls minds and technology. But reality begins to distort. Your sense of time collapses. To discover who you truly are, you must dive into the memories of others where nothing can be trusted. This is not just a horror game. It’s a mirror of emotion. A confrontation with how we lose ourselves in fear and control — and how we might rediscover love, and the self, within the ruins.
New visual filter for Xbox Series X|S
For players on Xbox, we’ve introduced a platform-exclusive visual filter system. Inspired by retro displays and broadcast signal degradation, this optional feature adds a unique emotional tone to the experience and gives returning players a new way to interpret the game’s atmosphere. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Technical terror built in Unreal Engine 5
Karma: The Dark World is developed entirely in Unreal Engine 5, and we’ve leveraged its powerful technology to the fullest:

Karma: The Dark World is a first-person cinematic psychological thriller set in a dystopian world where the Leviathan Corporation is omnipresent. The year is 1984, the place is East Germany, and things are not quite what they seem.
You are Daniel, a Roam Agent for Leviathan’s Thought Bureau, and you have been brought in to investigate actions that have happened in a very specific moment in time. A moment which opens the mind to a world of espionage and betrayal, littered with deep and dark secrets.
