Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 & Kingdom Hearts IV Are ‘Progressing Well,’ Says Tetsuya Nomura
Speaking during a recent interview, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Creative Director, Tetsuya Nomura, has revealed that development on Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is progressing smoothly and is on schedule.
In the same interview, Nomura-san also revealed that Kingdom Hearts IV, which has been keeping a very low profile since its initial announcement a few years ago, is also on track and progressing well.
“It is going very smoothly,” Nomura said of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3. “The announcement timing has been decided and we will stick to that schedule, so please rest assured and wait.” For Kingdom Hearts IV, he added, “Kingdom Hearts 4 is also progressing well and according to schedule.”

Cody Christian, the voice actor for Cloud in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, stated he was back in the studio recording for an unknown project, which may very well be FFVII Remake Part 3. Earlier in the year, key members of the development team — Naoki Hamaguchi and Yoshinori Kitase — said development was progressing well with the former stating he was “very satisfied” with how things are going.
The most recent update we got on Kingdom Hearts IV was back in May (which was the first we’d heard on the game in quite some time), where Square Enix revealed new screenshots confirming the addition of Mickey Mouse as a playable character.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is tentatively due for release in 2027, which would put it out four years after the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – the same amount of time that passed between that game and FFVII Remake’s release.
