Fixing Cyberpunk 2077 And Creating Its Phantom Liberty DLC Cost CD Projekt RED About $125 Million

CD Projekt RED will forever be remembered for the games it made, for sure, but along with that will come the abysmal launch of Cyberpunk 2077.

Fast forward to September 2023 however, a DLC and major game-changing update to (hopefully) end all updates later, and Cyberpunk 2077 is an entirely different game.

It’s a better game, for all accounts, and its no surprise to learn that it cost CD Projekt RED quite a bit to get it all done, to the tune of about $125 million USD.

This number comes from IGN who first reported that the approximate cost of the expansion, and the money spent based on the figures out of CD Projekt RED’s most recent Investor Day presentation added up to about $125 million USD.

Even if that number is slightly off, it’s definitely still a high number. And even though it probably shouldn’t have released until it looked the way it looks today, you can bet it would have cost CD Projekt RED more if that was the case.
