Operation Firestorm is a fan-favourite map that was previously seen in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4: Secondary Assault. In its original incarnation in Battlefield 3, Operation Firestorm is set on an oil field in Azadegan, Iran, where the United States Marine Corps are engaged with the Russian Army. Its inclusion in Battlefield 4: Second Assault dissimilar in terms of location and the armies involved in the conflict, but now features various open fires and explosive objectives.

Earlier this week, new footage of the Battlefield 6 Battle Royale mode leaked online, and while its inclusion in the game has already made official, it won’t be available at launch. In addition, changes are being made to movement in Battlefield 6 based on feedback from the Open Beta, including jump-shots and bunny hopping.

Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Morgan Securities, recently stated that EA is keen to make Battlefield an annual franchise, although believes this won’t happen for a few years yet.

Battlefield 6 is scheduled for release on October 10, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
