Starfield Dev Teases New DLC, Free Updates And ‘Features Players Have Been Asking For’

We’ve got official confirmation that a bunch more Starfield content is in the works!

This was revealed as part of a new Bethesda Game Studios Developer Spotlight earlier today, in which lead creative producer Tim Lamb hinted at various content coming to the game in the future.

Lamb mentioned free updates, a new DLC story and “features players have been asking for”:

“We have some cool stuff coming, including free updates and features players have been asking for, as well as a new DLC story. I can’t go into all the details just yet, but I will say part of the team has been focused on space gameplay to make the travels there more rewarding. We’re also adding some new game systems and a few other smaller delights.”

Recently, Starfield fans have discovered references in updates to suggest Interplanetary Travel might be added in the not too distant future, and Lamb’s mention about “making travels more rewarding” suggests that’s indeed the case.

The biggest question is around when we’ll see all of this content, with rumours suggesting that a new expansion could arrive alongside a PS5 port of Starfield, potentially at some point in early 2026.

We’ll have to wait and see on the timing of it all, but at least we know Starfield has plenty in the works!
