Japanese software/hardware sales for Mar. 20th to Mar. 26th, 2023

Wondering how the Switch held up in Japan this week? Switch titles made up 6 of the top 10 best-selling software list. After a four week streak in first, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe has been dethroned by the debut of Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 on both PS5 and PS4, as well as the Switch version of Koei Tecmo’s Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key. The PS4 and PS5 versions of Atelier Ryza 3 also made the top ten, sandwiching Pokemon Scarlet/Violet in fifth and seventh. As for the rest of the charts, it’s quite standard, with top-selling titles like Splatoon 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Minecraft making their usual appearance.

As for hardware, after nine weeks on the top, Sony’s PlayStation 5 has finally been bumped down to second by a boost in sales for the Switch OLED. This is followed by the standard Switch in third, and the Switch Lite in fourth.
