EA achieved $1.3 billion in net bookings during the first quarter of its 2026 fiscal year, surpassing the high end of its guidance range by $23 million.
The successful start to the year was partly attributed to EA Sports, Apex Legends and other areas of the studio’s portfolio, providing “better-than-expected contributions”.
Q1 was also a record quarter for FC Mobile’s net bookings, and the game saw DAU growth on a Y/Y basis.
However, EA’s overall live service net bookings actually declined by 1% Y/Y. It was full game sales that drove the quarter, up by 27%, resulting in a 3% increase in net bookings on the whole.
The quarter saw the release of EA Sports F1 25.
What’s the score?
EA’s net revenue also increased Y/Y, up 1% to nearly $1.7bn. Over half of that revenue was generated on consoles, totalling $1bn. Meanwhile, “PC and other” saw the most growth, up 2% to $374m.
Mobile was a smaller contributor at $290m in net revenue, matching its Q1 2025 contribution exactly. This Q1, net revenue on the platform accounted for 17% of EA’s total.
Across the full 2025 fiscal year, mobile accounted for 15% of net revenue.
Meanwhile, in Q1 2026, EA’s GAAP operating margin was 16% while its non-GAAP operating margin was 27%.
“This quarter’s performance highlights EA’s unique position in the industry – the immense creativity of our teams, unmatched production capabilities, world-class IP, and the breadth of our global player network,” said EA chairman and CEO Andrew Wilson.
“These differentiators power execution strength across geographies, platforms, genres and business models as we continue to demonstrate the durability and momentum of our business. When we look at our portfolio of massive online communities – from Global Football to American Football to The Sims – we are seeing our core communities of players more deeply engaged and staying with us for longer.
“This is the result of deliberate, sustained focus: years of commitment to our biggest opportunities are now compounding as we scale our communities and expand our reach.”
EA CFO Stuart Canfield added: “We exceeded the high end of our guidance in Q1, highlighting the resilience of our live services and the breadth of our portfolio.
“FC Mobile outperformed expectations again this quarter, with localised campaigns and growing webstore adoption fueling momentum through our Team of the Season event. As we look across Global Football, with growth across HD, mobile and online, we are confident in our ability to drive durable growth in our largest franchise.”
The quarter also saw hundreds of staff hit by layoffs company-wide and two projects cancelled at Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment.
