Assassin’s Creed Shadows rated for release on Switch 2 (UPDATE)

Assassin’s Creed Shadows just launched a month ago on PC, PS5 and XBox, but there’s been no sign of a release on any Nintendo platform… until now. It seems that the game has been officially rated for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 by European Ratings Board PEGI. While mention of the Switch 2 doesn’t show up on the game’s official page, it has been included under its rating on PEGI’s homepage.

This technically isn’t a sign that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is 100% headed to Switch 2, but it makes that a pretty safe bet. Ratings like this one almost always lead to news that the game is coming to the indicated platform, and Ubisoft has released several Assassin’s Creed games on Nintendo consoles in the past, so this wouldn’t be too surprising.

If Assassin’s Creed Shadows is coming to Switch 2, we still don’t know exactly when. As a reminder, Switch 2 comes out June 5th, 2025. Stay tuned for more info.

UPDATE 7/22: While still not officially announced by Ubisoft, evidence continues to mount for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2. Most recently, during a Ubisoft investor Q&A, CEO Yves Guillemot stated that “new versions” of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows “will come on other machines.” Specific hardware isn’t mentioned, but looking at all the evidence that’s piled up so far, it’s hard to imagine that Guillemot isn’t hinting at a Switch 2 release with this comment.
