Sony Confirms It Has No Plans To Exhibit At GamesCom 2025

Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed in a statement to GamesWirtschaft that it won’t be attending GameCom 2025, which marks the sixth year in a row that the PlayStation manufacture has skipped the event.

PlayStation hasn’t exhibited at GamesCom since 2019, and from the sound of things, there’s no plans to change that anytime soon “Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) currently has no plans to exhibit at Gamescom 2025. However, we look forward to exciting content and releases coming later this year,” said the format holder.

While Sony’s confirmation that it won’t be exhibiting at GamesCom means we shouldn’t expect any playable first-party games at the event, it doesn’t mean we won’t get any announcements during GamesCom Opening Night Live. Multiformat titles will still be present, which includes any planned PS5 versions, so it won’t be completely devoid of PlayStation-related content.

Sony is also confirmed to attend this year’s Tokyo Game Show, so the company could be saving its big guns for there, or perhaps any impending State of Play events. With Death Stranding 2: On the Beach now available worldwide, a lot of PS5 owners will be eager to know what major titles are coming later this year and beyond, with Ghost of Yotei obviously being already confirmed for October.
