Rumour – Battlefield 6 Budget Has Reached Over $400 Million, EA Wants Game To Hit 100 Million Players
A detailed report posted on Ars Technica has claimed that the new Battlefield title has already reached over $400 million in terms of budget, while publisher EA is looking to achieve a player count of 100 million, a figure significantly higher than anything the series has reached to date.
One anonymous source speaking to the site stated that Battlefield 1, which is the most successful game in the franchise, hit āmaybe 30 million plus,ā while Battlefield 2024 hit around 22 million. Arcs Technica spoke with a number of employees at EA who have work on or are still involved in production of the new Battlefield game, spanning multiple studios. They spoke of stress and long hours, with every individual having either taken leave due to exhaustion or knew someone who had.

The report added that āvery few peopleā working within these studios feel that the 100 million target is achievable, with those who worked at DICE for a long time being particularly skeptical of the figure. One source told Arcs Technica:
Among the things that we are predicting is that we wonāt have to cannibalize anyone elseās sales. That thereās just such an appetite out there for shooters of this kind that we will just naturally be able to get the audience that we need.
EA is set to fully unveil Battlefield 6 (or whatever it ends up being called) at some point this summer, with the game expected to arrive by the end of March 2026. The new Battlefield game is being tested extensively via Battlefield Labs, which has been leaking new footage steadily over the past few weeks. For example, we recently got a look at the classic Rush mode in action, and prior to that we got a sneaky look at the gameās campaign.
