Sony executive Hermen Hulst has revealed during the company’s latest business segment meeting that the format holder will continue to release live service games on PS5 and PC, but is taking steps to ensure that it doesn’t repeat the same mistakes seen with Concord.

Concord was released in August 2024 and developed by Firewalk Studios, but was met with negative reviews and failed to find itself a dedicated fanbase, with the game shutting down just three weeks after its launch and refunds offered to players. While reports that Concord had a $400 budget were debunked by Chris Dring, the failure of the title nonetheless a massive blow to Sony’s live service plans, and Firewalk Studios was shuttered by Sony in October 2024.
