Silent Hill 1 Remake Is Officially In Development At Bloober Team
Konami has announced in its livestream this afternoon that Bloober Team is working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, having previously developed the critically acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Not much is known about the Silent Hill 1 Remake right now other than it’s in active development. Silent Hill was originally released for the PSOne back in 1999, and follows Harry Mason as he searches the foggy streets for his missing daughter, Cheryl. Unlike Silent Hill 2, this title is set in a different part of town, namely Old Silent Hill and surrounding areas, and includes a number of iconic locations such as Midwich Elementary School and Alchemilla Hospital.

Silent Hill is notable for being censored in Japan and Europe, with the Grey Children enemies replaced by orange-coloured, demonic foes with claws. Only the US version of Silent Hill features these cut enemies, and they were adapted in the 2006 movie directed by Christophe Gans.
Bloober Team has yet to announce a release date or platforms for Silent Hill 1 Remake, but it is presumably only in the early stages of production.
