The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Is Getting Cross-Platform Mod Support For PS5, PC, And Xbox Series X/S This Year
CD Projekt RED is continuing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with confirmation that Cross-Platform mod support is coming to PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S via an update later this year.
Speaking on the official website for The Witcher 3 during a FAQ for the update, CDPR revealed that Cross-Platform Mod support will come at no extra cost for owners of the game, which includes the uploading, sharing and downloading of mods. This content will arrive via mod.io, which is an “easy to use platform for downloading and uploading mods.”

Many mods will be available across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. However, due to specific content guidelines and selection criteria for each platform, it may not be possible to bring every mod uploaded on PC to console. Mods available on mod.io must also adhere to our Fan Content Guidelines and CD PROJEKT RED User Agreement.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt originally released for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One in May 2015, and received a Nintendo Switch version in October 2019 followed by PS5 and Xbox Series X/S editions in December 2022. The Witcher 3 is one of the best-selling games of all time, having moved over 60 million copies globally in the past decade.
CDPR is currently working on a full-blown sequel, The Witcher IV, which is going to introduce Ciri as the main protagonist in place of Geralt of Rivia. It’ll be a long wait for the game however, as CDPR has revealed that The Witcher IV isn’t due out until after 2026.
