New Pokémon Scarlet/Violet screenshots show off Switch 2 upgrades
This week, we got more details about several Switch 1 games which are receiving free upgrades when played on the upcoming Switch 2. Two of the included titles were Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Both promised improved visuals, and now we have a look at exactly what those changes might entail.
GameFreak released a couple of new screenshots showing the Switch 2 versions of the games. In order to make a direct comparison, Pokenext went ahead and took screenshots from the standard Switch versions in the same locations. Take a look below.
The most obvious difference between the two is that the Switch 2 version features a much larger number of wild Pokémon on screen at once. The overall image also appears to be much sharper, with a higher resolution, and more advanced lighting and reflections.
We know that both games will also feature framerate improvements in their Switch 2 upgrades, but for now, these screenshots are all we have to get an idea of the differences. You’ll be able to see them in action for yourself when the upgraded versions launch alongside the Switch 2 on June 5th.
