RUMOR: Donkey Kong Bananza may have local multiplayer
Donkey Kong Bananza is coming to Switch 2 on July 17th, 2025, and it’s set to offer a brand-new 3D platforming action adventure where we crash, bash, and climb through nearly everything in DK’s path. There’s certainly a lot more to learn about with this title and Nintendo will no doubt share details as we inch closer to launch, and now rumors are rumbling that there may be some local multiplayer madness be had.
It’s been discovered that Nintendo has made some changes with Donkey Kong Bananza’s listing on their official websites. First up, the game has now been added to a “Local Multiplayer Games” recommendation page on the My Nintendo Store in various areas of Europe. Along with that, the number of players supported is listed as “TBD” on the official European product page.
While the “TBD” listing is nebulous enough to read any way you’d like, the “Local Multiplayer Games” addition is either confirmation of that component or a big mistake on Nintendo’s part. Either way, we won’t know for sure what’s going on until Nintendo comes out and says one way or another. Let’s hope they do that in the very near future and clear up this matter before confusion overtakes the discussion.
