Koei Tecmo details how Wild Hearts S on Switch 2 differs from the original game

Wild Hearts S was announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 during the last Nintendo Direct presentation. It’ll be available on June 25th, 2025, just a few weeks after the launch of the new console. Today, we’ve gotten some details on how this version of the title differs from the original Wild Hearts release.

Wild Hearts offers a unique twist on the hunting genre, where technology gives you a fighting chance against fearsome beasts infused with the ferocious power of nature itself. Take on these creatures alone or hunt with friends in seamless co-op. Developed by Omega Force, the Japanese studio behind the DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise, Wild Hearts takes you on an epic adventure set in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan.

Wild Hearts landed on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2023, and now Koei Tecmo is returning to the game for a Switch 2 release, dubbed Wild Hearts S. Here’s how the game has been spruced up for its debut on Nintendo’s next-gen system:

  • maximum number of players for both online and local play has been increased from 3 to 4 players
  • the update of additional beasts and modes in “Wild Hearts” is included from the start
  • the parameters of specific weapons and armor have been adjusted, making it easier to challenge high-difficulty bosses in the early stages by optimizing relevant equipment
  • offers modified mechanics for how beasts escape based on damage
  • reduced frequency of beast escapes

Last but not least, the following content from “Wild Hearts Karakuri Edition” will be included in “Wild Hearts S”:

  • Two full cosmetic armor sets
  • One decorative Tsukumo lantern
  • Three emotes
