R.E.P.O. rip-off “R.E.P.O Horror” aims to fool unsuspecting Switch owners
R.E.P.O. is an online co-op horror game for PC where you locate valuable, fully physics-based objects and handle them with care as you retrieve and extract to satisfy your creator’s desires. The game has been a massive hit so far, which makes it no surprise to see clones and copycats crop up. Unfortunately, an especially egregious rip-off has landed on the Switch eShop, and Nintendo has yet to make a move.
Head over to the Switch eShop and you’ll find R.E.P.O Horror, a completely different game that is looking to cash in on R.E.P.O.’s fame. The game’s logo and visuals are incredibly similar to the real deal, but as you might suspect, the quality of the experience if far beneath what the real game has to offer.
Nintendo customer support has supposedly been made aware of this title and they claim the situation has been escalated. Hopefully that means we’ll see R.E.P.O Horror yanked from the Switch eShop any day now. Until then, make sure you spread the word on this shrewd knockoff in order to steer less-informed Switch owners away.
