HBO’s The Last Of Us Season One Now Available In American Sign Language
HBO’s The Last Of Us is due to launch its second season this coming April 13, 2025, but ahead of that there’s a bit of good news regarding the first season.
Just like the games have pushed accessibility features forward for the video game industry, the show has pushed accessibility forward for HBO Max, as the entirety of season one is now available in American Sign Language, the first original HBO Max series to hit that mark.
HBO Max announced the news with a post on X, featuring a scene between Sam and Ellie, where Sam is teaching Ellie a bit of sign language. A change made from the game to the show was that Sam, played by deaf actor Kevionn Woodard, would be deaf in the show.
“A first for an HBO Original Series, Season 1 of The Last Of Us is now available in American Sign Language on Max,” HBO Max wrote in its post.
It’s great to see this for The Last Of Us, and hopefully it’ll become a trend with other HBO original series shows.
