Super Mario 64 speedrunner sets new blindfolded record
Some speedrunners just aren’t satisfied with blowing through a game as quickly as they can. They need to dial things up considerably by giving themselves other restrictions. When it comes to Super Mario 64 speedrunners, they love nothing more than strapping on a blindfold to see just how well they know the game, and now a new record has been set in this very unique category.
Speedrunner Bubzia continues to impress with his Super Mario 64 blindfolded speedruns, and now he’s bested his previous record by a sizable amount of time. In the Super Mario 64 70-star blindfolded speedrun category, Bubzia has now locked in a time of 1:16:41, which is over 3 minutes faster than his previous record. You can see how it all plays out in the video above.
You’d think Bubzia would take a break after this incredible feat, and he will…from this specific speedrun. Now the speedrunner wants to better his 120-star run, which currently sits at 11:22:42. In other words, a much bigger challenge is ahead of him, but let’s hope Bubzia takes a bit of time to enjoy his latest victory before getting back to the grind.
