Exits of top game developers like Peak Games, Gram Games and Rollic triggered a wave of new studios and investments in Türkiye, leading to the establishment of a host of new studios.
Speaking at Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2025, Bilkent CyberPark Entrepreneurship, Cooperation and Technology Transfer Expert Irmak Tamgac discussed the history of Türkiye’s games industry over the past decades.
She provided a timeline that shows the sector’s progress in the country up to Peak Games’ $1.8 billion sale to Zynga in 2020 and Dream Games’ unicorn status in 2021.
Tamgac said after Peak’s record-breaking exit, 108 former employees established 82 startups, 37 of which focused on gaming. This includes Royal Match studio Dream Games.
Overall, in 2025 Türkiye was said to have 858 gaming startups. Other key figures include:
- 13,000+ games offered by Turkish publishers on GOogle Play
- 22 exits in the last five years
- Two games clusters
- Two unicorns (Dream Games and Peak Games)
- 12 gaming incubators and 22 gaming accelerators
Over the last 12 months, top gaming deals in Türkiye include:

- Grand Games – $30m
- Agave Games – $18m
- Good Job Games – $17m
- Cypher Games – $10m
