Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic PS5 Remake References Are Being Quietly Wiped From The Internet

UPDATE: A report from Stephen Totilo at Axios adds a statement from Sony on the de-listing of the references to the supposedly still coming remake.

As part of normal business, we delist assets with licensed music when the licenses expire.” It’s a statement that only brings more questions than answers, like why these licenses would be expiring at all, and what about them results in the removal of any mention of an upcoming PS5 exclusive game.

Original Story:

The Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake doesn’t look like it’s going to be seeing the light of day anytime soon, as Sony has quietly started to remove any reference to the game online, including its YouTube and social media accounts.

If you haven’t been keeping up with the Knights of the Old Republic, the game has run into numerous issues in the past year or so, and back in April last year it was reported the project had shifted from Aspyr Media to Saber Interactive. This follows a report from Bloomberg the month before stating that the game had been delayed indefinitely.

Fast-forward to May this year, and it was reported that the Knights of the Old Republic Remake was still in development, but nothing has been shown on the project yet.

The original Knights of the Old Republic was released for the Xbox back in 2003, and takes place around 4,000 years before the formation of the Galactic Empire. The game was a huge success among critics and players alike, and is often cited as one of the greatest video games ever made.
