Rumour — Rocksteady Studios Working On Single-Player Batman Game; Wonder Woman Is In Trouble And Still Years Off

According to a Bloomberg report, Rocksteady Studios is looking to recover from the disappointment of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League by returning to what it does best, namely working on a new Batman single-player game.

The report states that Rocksteady Studios is “is looking to return to Batman for a single-player game,” but note that the project is still years away from release at this time. Rocksteady is obviously best known for its work on the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham franchise, although Suicide Squad was a major departure from this being a live service experience.

Beyond that, Bloomberg also reports that the Wonder Woman video game currently in development at Monolith Productions isn’t in a great position right now, having apparently seen a shift in directors and being rebooted in early 2024. The project has already cost more than $100 million, and is not likely to see the light of day anytime soon.

Bloomberg aded that the Nemesis system, which was featured in Monoliths’ Shadow of Mordor and its sequel, is no longer being revamped for Wonder Woman, which will instead offer a more traditional adventure adventure experience.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released in February 2024 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, but was a commercial and critical disappointment. Support for the game has now wrapped up following the release of the game’s latest update.
