Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Censoring Some Graphic Content For Its Japanese Release

Ubisoft has revealed that the Japanese version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be censored.

Despite being given a Z rating by Japan’s CERO ratings body, which means it cannot be sold to anyone under the age of 18, some of the game’s graphic content is still being removed as it was deemed to extreme for a Z certification.

Regarding Assassin’s Creed: Shadows (CERO: Z), there are some differences in the in-game content of the version sold in Japan in order to comply with the regulations of the reviewing organization. The option to switch dismemberment on and off has been removed from the game settings, and now dismembering the heads and limbs of enemies while playing is permanently disabled. The way severed body parts are depicted has also been changed.
