Mario & Donkey Kong adorn new Japan Airlines plane

Nintendo characters are known throughout the world, and their popularity and reach is only growing. In particular, more people than ever are seeing what Mario and Donkey Kong are all about thanks to releases like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Super Nintendo World, and now that collab with Universal is reaching even further.

Universal Studios Japan has teamed up with Japan Airlines for a special airplane that crams a whole bunch of the company’s collaborators onto a plan. You can get a glimpse of that plane above, which features Mario, Donkey Kong, the Minions, Sesame Street characters, and Woody Woodpecker.

This collaboration doesn’t just include decorations on the outside of the plane, as inside passengers will also see special seatback covers with Mario and Donkey Kong, along with cups featuring multiple characters as well. There’s even a set of stickers for passengers to collect as well.

If you were hoping to catch a ride on this one-of-a-kid plane, you’ll have to do a lot of traveling in Japan. This plane will make trips to and from Osaka, Kagoshima, Miyazaki, Sendai, Hakodate, Fukuoka, and Nagasaki. You can get a closer look at the plane along with a special debut celebration below.
