While the deals and the stats of the gaming world are important, nothing would happen without the research, funding and, of course, development that goes into making a great game.
So here’s a collection of the most exciting new mobile games right now, the developers and publishers behind them, and why, exactly, they’ve made the cut.
Monument Valley 3
The latest entry in the critically acclaimed series, Monument Valley 3 marks the return of dynamic, vibrant aesthetics, optical illusions and plenty of minimalistic puzzles to navigate. It follows another new protagonist in Noor, an apprentice lightkeeper on a quest to discover a new power source to stop the world’s light from fading.
Developed by Ustwo Games, Monument Valley 3 offers a brand-new journey in an enchanting world, and one reserved for Netflix subscribers.
Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium
Another day, another sequel. Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium follows on 10 years in-universe and eight in the real world from the original Girls’ Frontline game, with more strategic roleplaying, turn-based battling and another dramatic soundtrack to be found within.
Also like its predecessor, Girls’ Frontline 2 was developed by MICA Team and comes packed with grid-based maps to overcome, each presenting tactical challenges in a 3D space.
Go Go Muffin
Team MEKA’s stress-free auto battler Go Go Muffin features a more relaxing setting than many gamers may be accustomed to, with a cat called Muffin by players’ sides to really get things purring. Gameplay is built around optimising talents and class-exclusive skills, combining them tactfully for the best outcomes in idle mode.
And if a lazy but righteous talking cat isn’t enough company, players can stroll through their adventure with human friends too.
Ultimate Myth: Rebirth
Drawing inspiration from a rarer source than the more typical Greek or Norse, Eastern mythology-inspired Ultimate Myth: Rebirth thrusts beta players into strategic PvP and PvP battles with six factions of heroes, plenty of stellar artwork and a roster’s worth of characters to collect.
Developer Loongcheer Game has launched its latest game in open beta on Google Play, giving Android owners the first glimpse of the battles to come with stylised demons and monsters.
Cyber Quest
Part deck-builder, part roguelike, and all cyberpunk, Dean Coulter’s aptly named Cyber Quest sees players bring together a band of mercs, rogues and more than a dozen other classes on a quest to overcome the city’s worst crime gangs.
