New World Aeternum: Xbox Release Date, Release Times, FAQ & Early Impressions
We’ve got some cool Xbox releases on the way this week, including one that should prove particularly popular in the form of Amazon Games’ New World: Aeternum. This is a game that was all the rage a few years ago, and to be honest we never thought we’d see it on Xbox – but now we’re just a few hours away from release!
As we get closer and closer to the Xbox launch, we thought we’d put together a guide with all the information you need to know about New World: Aeternum – including dates, times, game info, impressions and plenty more! Let’s go.
What Exactly Is New World: Aeternum?
Back in 2021, Amazon Games released an MMORPG on PC called New World. It got a lot of attention at the time, and although it’s sitting on a “Mixed” rating on the Steam platform right now, it’s racked up over 240,000 scores on there.
Then, earlier this year, Amazon announced that a new version called New World: Aeternum would be coming to PC as well as Xbox and PlayStation at the end of 2024. Aeternum not only includes all the base game and expansion content from New World, but it also makes a large number of improvements to essentially overhaul the experience.
“New World: Aeternum includes the New World base game, the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion and all update content like Brimstone Sands, plus a fully revamped storytelling approach with enhanced dialogue, in-game cinematics and pre-rendered scenes, the first-ever large-scale PvP zone, a challenging 10-player raid, new end-game solo trials, and more.
As you might expect, New World: Aeternum is an online game, so you’ll need a subscription to at least Xbox Game Pass Core in order to play it. The good news is that you can link up with other players on PC and PlayStation 5 while enjoying the game on Xbox as well, as there’s full crossplay support implemented from day one.
Pre-orders and pre-loads are available right now on the Xbox Store – the game starts at a price of £49.99 / $59.99.
“Discover the island of Aeternum: Explore a massive, beautiful world and uncover the secret truth of the eternal island and its strange inhabitants. Endless opportunities to fight, forage, and forge await among the island’s wilderness and ruins. Play solo or use cross-platform play to team up with others, or compete head-to-head in a variety of PvP battles. Customize the look, skills, and abilities of your character, and experiment with different builds to suit your play style.”

New World: Aeternum is not included with Xbox Game Pass at launch in October 2024.
Obviously that could change in the future, but we’ve seen no indications of how likely that could be. As mentioned up above though, you’ll need at least Game Pass Core in order to access New World Aeternum due its online-only features.
