PS5 Pro Reportedly Took About 2.5 Years To Develop

We’ve been hearing about a potential PS5 Pro for a long time now, and earlier this month it was finally confirmed to be real.

It’ll be releasing this coming November 7, 2024, just in time for the holiday season, and a new report from Insider-Gaming has shed a bit of light on how it got to this point.

The report claims that the PS5 Pro took a little more than two and a half years to develop and make from beginning to end. It even shares an image outlining the full timeline of the console’s full development.

“The PlayStation 5 Pro took 31 months to develop from start to release,” the report reads. It then shares the timeline, and a legend for some of the abbreviations used so readers can better understand the stages as they’re laid out.

According to the timeline, PlayStation began working on it in earnest in May 2022.

You can check out the full timeline below. The report also clarifies that the bubbles outlined are meant to signify key periods of the console’s development.
