Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Will Depict A Much Stronger Tifa Lockhart, Says Naoki Hamaguchi

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will place greater emphasis on Tifa’s strength compared to the previous two games, according to Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

That’s according to reports from Japan via X user Genki, who added that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will feature a new gameplay mechanic that will revolve around Tifa, although we don’t know anything more about this right now.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 — which is surely not going to be its official title — is still in the early stages of development, and is targeting a 2027 release on PS5. Hamaguchi-san previously said that he reckons Part 3 will be “one of the most loved, most popular games” of all time, and in a recent interview revealed Unreal Engine 5 may be used for the project if Square Enix determines it would speed up development time.
