Todd Phillips Says The Hulk Hogan Movie Starring Chris Hemsworth Is Scrapped

The long-awaited biopic about Hulk Hogan has been officially canceled.

Originally planned to feature Chris Hemsworth as the WWE legend and Hall of Famer, the film had been in progress since at least 2019, with Todd Phillips, known for directing Joker, initially lined up to direct. However, during a recent chat with Variety ahead of the release of Joker: Folie à Deux, Phillips confirmed the project’s cancellation, stating, “I love what we were trying to do, but that’s not going to come together for me.”

Hulk Hogan had hinted in late 2023 that the film was unlikely to move forward, citing a ‘business hiccup’ after Netflix withdrew from the production deal. Despite Hemsworth’s optimism about reviving the project in May 2024, it seems the film will not come to fruition.
