Starfield Is Getting Review Bombed (Again)

During the Xbox Showcase this week, Bethesda announced the arrival of its new Starfield update adding ‘Creations’, new Trackers Alliance missions, and much more.

While it was celebrated as exciting news, this update appears to have upset some players – with multiple complaints about paid ‘Creations’ and ‘Trackers Alliance’ missions surfacing online.

Some players have called Bethesda’s decision to sell Trackers Alliance missions individually a “dangerous precedent”. Various other items are now also being sold at certain prices and it’s once again led to concerns about Bethesda pushing for “paid mods”.

Bethesda has released the first mission ‘Trackers Alliance’ for 700 credits (about $7) and it’s planning to add more to the game this way. If you happen to own the Premium Edition, you’ll also receive 1,000 Creation Credits to start you off. Here are some of the reactions so far to this latest update, which have unsurprisingly resulted in review bombing of the game on platforms like Steam:

“Really? Another push for curated paid mods no one asked for? Are you this desperate for modders to fix your game on a budget, instead of doing it yourself with developers on an actual payroll? This disconnected from the actual foundations of your success your titles have had this far?” via Steam

“This could be the final nail in the coffin for Starfield, I called it months ago, paid mods before any meaningful content additions or fixes, and the usual crowd refused to accept it.” via Steam

Although there is some concern (and it’s happened before with the implementation of ‘Creation’ content in other Bethesda titles), there are many players who seem to be enjoying this new update:
