Star Wars Outlaws Creative Director Says Spaceflight Is ‘Accessible & Fun’

Speaking during an interview with Game Informer, Julian Gerighty, creative director on Star Wars Outlaws, touched base on the spaceflight in the upcoming sci-fi epic, revealing players can look forward to “accessible, fun and action-packed” sequences.

We wanted to make spaceflight as accessible, fun, and action-packed as possible. The controls are extremely easy to get into. There’s always something to do. It’s fast to travel; you can hyperdrive at any moment, and there’s combat, of course, both on an intimate dogfight scale but also on an epic scale too. And there’s exploration. There’s a lot of things to do in space.

Star Wars Outlaws offers plenty to do during its spaceflight sequences, including dogfights and taking on space stations featuring unique side quests, leading to large-scale battles.

Developed by Massive Entertainment, Star Wars Outlaws takes place between Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, and follows outlaw scoundrel Kay Less and her companion Nix, as they ‘attempt one of the biggest resists the Outer Rim has ever seen.’

Ubisoft recently attracted criticism for locking a story mission featuring Jabba the Hutt behind the game’s Gold Edition, which had people believe the character would not be featured otherwise. This isn’t the case, with the notorious space gangster appearing in the main campaign outside of this ‘optional’ mission.
