Assassin’s Creed Codename Red Reportedly Includes Decapitations, Hideout Building & Revamped Stealth

Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will feature a more grisly depiction of combat including decapitations, as well as an evolved settlement building mechanic that expands on the one seen in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

That’s at least according to Tom Henderson on Insider-Gaming, who has received new details on the feudal Japan-set Assassin’s Creed game, which is scheduled to launch by March 31, 2025. Keep in mind that none of this is official yet, as Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed any of the info.

Reportedly, the move to Anvil Pipeline has meant that the development team will be revamping the animations, parkour, and dynamic weather for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red. Furthermore, stealth plays a big role in the game too, and has been described as similar to Splinter Cell.

Meanwhile, the Hideout, which is Red’s version of Valhalla’s settlement, allows players to build their base of operations, including an armoury, dojo, alter, and customise the various buildings that will make up your Hideout.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Red is the next mainline entry in the venerable stealth-action franchise, and according to previous reports, will be the last instalment to use the AC Origins formula that began in 2017.
