What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 17-18)

Welcome to the weekend! It’s been a busy few days for Xbox, and now we’ve got plenty of great games to enjoy across Saturday and Sunday including a bunch of new Xbox Game Pass titles and the usual Free Play Days selection.

Here’s what we’re playing this weekend:

I’m really enjoying my time with NHL 24 at the moment. Hockey Ultimate Team hasn’t been my jam for almost a decade really, but the gameplay is so much fun that I’ve found myself putting lots of hours into HUT over the past couple of weeks. That’ll almost definitely continue this weekend – I’ve got a lot of catching up still to do!

The rest of my time will probably be spent with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The story isn’t really doing anything for me so far, but fortunately the gameplay definitely is, so I can see myself putting a bunch of hours into that game over the weekend. Fingers crossed the narrative at least gets a bit more interesting as time goes on!

Have a good weekend, folks.

HOGWARTS LEGACY!! After wrapping up my review of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered I’m finally getting around to playing Avalanche’s Hogwarts adventure after picking up a cheap copy recently. It makes a heck of a first impression – I’m hooked after just a few hours and can’t wait to play more over the weekend!

If I’m fancying a bit of no-frills multiplayer action this weekend, I’ll also be continuing with some Modern Warfare 3: Season 2. I’ve grabbed the battle pass, I’m taking names as Rick Grimes – it’s all good in the world of CoD MP!

Enjoy your weekend, whatever you’re up to!

As much as I am tempted to follow Ben in jumping into the remastered Tomb Raider games, I must confess I’m still a little traumatised by being so godawful at them when they originally released. I will likely stick to the safety of some Sea Of Thieves, which I must now return to after some rather disappointing time spent with Skull & Bones.

I’ll also be continuing to be completely addicted to Banishers: Ghosts of Eden. There has been worryingly little chatter about this amazing game on my social feeds lately, it’s been drowned out by bigger releases, but do yourself a huge favour and check it out if you can. Paranormal activity in 17th Century New England? With unique combat, fantastic writing/acting and a story that will very likely have you in tears at points? I feel a big sweaty review coming on.
