WWE 2K24 Celebrates 40 Years Of WrestleMania On Xbox This March
It’s a big year for WWE with WrestleMania 40 just around the corner, and that’s also translating to the upcoming release of WWE 2K24, which has just been announced as releasing on March 8th, 2024 for Xbox One, Series X and Series S.
To celebrate the milestone, WWE 2K24’s Showcase Mode is focused around the history of the event, allowing you to play through its most iconic moments in the “most immersive WrestleMania video game experience to date”.
“40 years in the making, the WWE 2K24 Showcase…of the Immortals puts players in control, playing through the most iconic moments in WrestleMania history as 2K’s distinctive Slingshot Tech seamlessly morphs gameplay to live-action footage and back again for the most immersive WrestleMania video game experience to date. A host of unlockable content adds challenge and replay value to this historical experience.”
Elsewhere, the MyRISE career mode is getting two brand-new storylines with voiceover from WWE superstars, the likes of MyGM, MyFaction, Universe and the Creation Suite are being bulked out with various new and improved features, and we’re getting four brand-new match types in the form of the Ambulance, Casket, Gauntlet and Special Referee matches – while the Backstage Brawl is also being expanded in multiple ways.
“Players asked, and WWE 2K24 delivers, with four new, chaotic match types: Special Guest Referee, Ambulance Match, Casket Match, and Gauntlet Match. In addition, the Backstage Brawl now features 4-player support and new interactive environmental elements – including a working elevator, breakable control room glass, and a vending machine with throwable sodas – while the Royal Rumble now offers support for eight online players in 30-Superstar online matches.”
If you’re interested in pre-ordering WWE 2K24 for Xbox, the standard version retails at $59.99 for Xbox One and $69.99 for Xbox Series X and S, while there are also “Deluxe” and “Forty Years of WrestleMania” editions featuring a bunch of extra bonuses along with three days’ worth of early access. All of these are live on the Xbox Store now.
We’ve had a really good time with WWE 2K23 over the past year, and it looks like 2K24 is going to be another great entry in the series! Fortunately the wait isn’t too long either, as there’s only just over a month until it arrives on Xbox.
