Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition Appears On Ratings Board Again

Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition

Despite the radio silence following its appearance on ratings board PEGI back in late 2021, Little Nightmare: Enhanced Edition has again popped up, this time by way of a rating by the ESRB.

Despite having no formal reveal as of yet, it seems as if the original game will follow in the footsteps of its sequel by receiving an ‘Enhanced Edition’ sometime in the new year.

Spotted by Gematsu, the rating lists its platforms as PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series and provides the below description of its rating summary:

‘’This is an adventure platformer in which players assume the role of a girl (Six) who must escape a nightmarish world. As players traverse the environment, they run, jump, climb, and sneak around to avoid enemies (e.g., leaches, large human-like creatures). Getting caught usually results in short death scenes: corrupted souls eating Six whole; leeches strangling Six to death. One sequence depicts a pool of blood around a fallen boss after Six attacks her out of hunger; another sequence allows players to electrocute a character by dropping a TV into a pool. A hanging corpse and various blood stains are also depicted in some environments.”

Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition features a beauty, (resolution mode) performance mode, 3D audio, ray-traced reflections, volumetric shadows, and interactive particles, so we can perhaps expect similar from the re-release of its predecessor.

Moreover, the timing makes sense considering the announcement of a third game in the series – this time by developer Supermassive Games rather than creator Tarsier Studios – back at Gamescom Opening Night Live in August.
