Dark Souls 2 PS3 Servers Are Shutting Down In March 2024

Online servers for Dark Souls 2 for PS3 and Xbox 360 will be shutting down on March 31, 2024, Bandai Namco Games and From Software have announced.

Dark Souls 2’s servers will shut up shop at 5.00am PST/8.00am EST/1.00pm GMT, both companies said in a statement issued today.

A message stating that online play is disabled will be displayed. Offline play will still be possible. PC, PS4 & Xbox One servers will not be affected. Thank you to those who have played since launch.

Dark Souls 2 was released for PS3 and Xbox 360 back in March 2014, so the servers would have been online for a decade, which isn’t too shabby nowadays. Plus, as the statement above says, the PS4, PC, and Xbox One versions will still continue to function.

The Dark Souls franchise has proven to be hugely successful for FromSoftwares since its inception in 2011, going from cult favourite to a multi-million selling series embraced by the mainstream.
