The Finals Dev Confirms There Isn’t A Content Roadmap As It Wants To ‘Make Promises We Can Keep’
Embark Studios has revealed that it won’t be planning a roadmap for The Finals, as it wants to ensure it is able to make promises it can keep in regards to its content plans for the game.
The news comes via comments from Gustav Tilleby (creative director) and Jaokim Stigsson (senior environment artist) in the latest Axios gaming newsletter, with Tilleby quoted: “We better hold off with that sort of stuff and make promises we can keep.”
As it stands, The Finals Season 1 is currently available for players, offering a battle pass for players to plough their time into that wraps on March 12, 2024. It costs $9.99/£7.99 and offers up cosmetic and in-game currency as rewards.

Elsewhere, Stiggson addressed the possibility of players able to inflict ground damage, given that The Finals features destructible environments.
We need to kind of draw the line somewhere. Otherwise we would have players digging holes.
The Finals is now available for PS5 following a surprise launch at The Game Awards earlier this month.
