Resident Evil & Resident Evil 4 Original Director Shinji Mikami Isn’t Interested In Going Back To The Series
Shinji Mikami, the original director of the first Resident Evil game and producer/director on multiple games in the franchise isn’t interested in working on the series again.
This comes out of a live talk Mikami did with long time friend and former colleague Hideki Kamiya, during which Kamiya credited Mikami as the developer he learned everything from.
Translated and posted on Twitter by Genki_JPN, that Mikami wants to move on from Resident Evil is one of the many interesting points to come out of the talk.
But it’s definitely the most impactful one for RE fans. Mikami was a huge figure in the seminal games that provided a huge foundation for the series, none more than Resident Evil 4, on which he originally directed.
We know that Mikami is already excited to “get back to work” after his departure from Tango Gameworks, though it’s unclear what that entirely means still, though fans will be waiting on baited breath to see whatever his next project is.
