Pure Nintendo Podcast E37 | Indie World Showcase breakdown!

This week on the Pure Nintendo Podcast, Jemma and Kirk break down the titles shown during the recent Indie World Showcase from Nintendo.

Last week, we looked at the latest DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. This week, we’ve been treated to a lot of new content coming our way from many talented indie devs across the world. There’s no shortage of games to play lately!

We discuss everything from Backpack Hero to Moonstone Island, not to mention a brand-new Shantae title. There’s inspiration from Italy and Scotland, plus a space adventure. There’s also a bit of a theme for the showcase with a few detective/narrative titles in the mix, as well as sim/roguelike titles.

We’ve already spent some time with Howl – a tactical strategy title with hand-drawn graphics – and Death Trick: Double Blind – a detective title with visual novel elements set in a 1920s circus. We give our thoughts on those two titles so far. Howl is out now, so watch for our upcoming review.

We also talk about a couple of recent JRPG titles Kirk has been playing in the form of Grace for Latoile and Long Gone Days. We also delve into some sales happening on the eShop at the moment – it’s that time of year, after all!
