You Might Want Hideki Kamiya To Work With Other Legendary Developers Like Hideo Kojima Or Yoko Taro, But Kamiya Thinks It’s A Bad Idea
Since leaving Platinum Games, co-founder of the Bayonetta studio Hideki Kamiya has been focusing on whatβs next to come for him, but also his budding YouTube channel, where heβs simply been doing whatever he likes.
Part of that included responding to fan comments in his latest video, where he addressed a commonly asked question around him collaborating with other storied developers in the industry unlike himself.
Names like Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima or Nier director Yoko Taro, but Kamiya doesnβt think it would be a good idea. βIt doesnβt work like in Dragon Ball,β he said.
βLook, it would be a disaster! It doesnβt work like in Dragon Ball, where Goku fuses with other characters. Two people with completely different personalities and ideas would clash. Thereβs no way youβd get a decent game of that. Why is that hard for people to understand?β
Of course super groups could be possible in game development as they are elsewhere in entertainment and art, but Kamiya is right, each of the names mentioned are all outstanding creatives and game makers in their own right.
Itβs more likely the difference in how each of them work and their approaches would cause more tension and yield a game that perhaps doesnβt live up to any of their own quality standards.
