The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR’s Next Major Update Is Out July 21, Promises Reduced Load Times & Visual Improvements
Supermassive Games has super-glued a July 21, 2023 release date to the next major update for The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR for PSVR 2.
While the full patch notes have yet to be revealed, Supermassive Games has already given us an idea of what to expect from the update, as seen below in an update posted back in May (at which point the update was due out by the end of June).
- Fixes for blurred / low resolution visuals
- Fixes for textures and assets popping
- Greatly reduced loading times
- Enhancements to visuals, VFX and lighting
- Improvements to textures and environment assets
- Introduction of FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) and foveated rendering
Creating a patch of this scale and scope takes time, and we want you all to know that we sincerely appreciate your continued patience and understanding while development remains ongoing. We understand that this process is taking longer than anticipated and want to assure you all that your voices and feedback throughout this period are being heard.
The Switchback VR team are determined to ensure that your gameplay experience following the deployment of this patch exceeds all of your expectations, and we cannot wait to share it with you once it is ready.
