There’s been a surprising Xbox leak – seemingly revealing Microsoft’s Xbox Live Gold service will be replaced by ‘Xbox Game Pass Core’ in the near future.

This information appears to have been shared ahead of schedule via a Windows Central story that’s now been taken down. The new Game Pass Core tier is expected to arrive on 1st September and will be made available for the same price as Gold ($9.99 per month). It comes with online console multiplayer, member “deals & discounts” and includes a catalog of more than 25 Game Pass titles.

Here are some of the games which will reportedly be included with Game Pass Core. You can see a graphic of this new tier in the tweet below:

‘”Among Us, Descenders, Dishonored 2, DOOM Eternal, Fable Anniversary, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Grounded, Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Wars 2, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Human Fall Flat, INSIDE, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Psychonauts 2, State of Decay 2, Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.”

It seems the monthly free ‘Games with Gold’ offer will also be coming to an end. Once again, this new tier will supposedly replace the Gold tier. The PC tier is the same price at $9.99 (per month) and at a higher price of $10.99 there’s the Console tier and Ultimate for $16.99.

This apparent leak follows a series of rumours about Microsoft retiring Xbox Live Gold and even merging it with Game Pass. Keep in mind, there’s been no official public confirmation just yet. Last week it was also revealed Xbox would be closing its ‘Friends & Family’ Game Pass plan.
