Speaking during an interview with Famitsu magazine, the team behind Star Ocean revealed how the upcoming Star Ocean: The Second Story R came about, and a lot of it has to do with the amount of fan requests the team received.
With the release last year of Star Ocean 6 THE DIVINE FORCE, a new numbered title of the Star Ocean series, we believe that the series is currently attracting a lot of attention from fans. In addition, Star Ocean: The Second Story is one of the most popular games in the series, and we have received many requests for a remake.
Therefore, in the 25th anniversary year of Star Ocean The Second Story, we decided to release Star Ocean The Second Story R as a remake, completely revamping the game system and graphics so that both old and new fans can play the game with a fresh perspective.
