Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon Sequel Could Be Happening, Possibly Titled Umbrella Chronicles

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City has been rumoured to be getting a follow-up for a while now, and it looks it could be happening — with Umbrella Chronicle being a possible title for the project.

While nothing official has been announced yet, Sudbury.com is reporting that the Greater Sudbury area — the area where Welcome to Raccoon City was filmed — is receiving an $11 million injection from the provincial government. This is to fund 20 local projects through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation, among which is ‘Umbrella Chronicles,’ which is receiving $2 million.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles was a 2007 Wii game that retold the events of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and Resident Evil Zero as a rail shooter, and featured numerous other scenarios to unlock including a brand new mission set in 2003 featuring Chris and Jill.

It should also be noted that Raccoon HG Film Productions is the movie company behind Umbrella Chronicles, and were also responsible for Welcome to Raccoon City. Again, nothing has been announced yet, but it seems possible a sequel is on the cards.

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City launched in late 2021 and took place in September 1998, combining the events of RE1 & RE2 into one night.
