Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Includes Disclaimer On ‘Insensitive Cultural Depictions’
Capcom has included a disclaimer in retro compilation Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection warning players about ‘culturally insensitive content.’
The collection includes a number of classic Game Boy Advance games released between 2001 and 2005, although its content features potentially offensive content that has been included for the sake of preservation. As such, a disclaimer has been included when you fire up the Legacy Collection to give you the heads-up.
Capcom values diversity and inclusivity within its games and its community. “Please be aware the games in this collection may contain some cases of insensitive cultural depictions that are presented as originally created to preserve their authenticity.

ResetEra members have been discussing what scenes in the game the disclaimer could be referring too, and it’s widely agreed that Mega Man Battle Network 2 is the main offender. As an example, the player meets a Black man who commented, “I pray every morning to my God, and the chicken he provides.”
Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection was released last week for PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. You can read our full review here.
