Cairn Is Getting Free DLC ‘On The Trail’ This Summer, Reveals The Game Bakers

PS5’s critically acclaimed survival climber Cairn is receiving free DLC this summer in the form of On the Trail, developer The Game Bakers has announced.

Speaking in a press release on the DLC, the studio revealed that On The Trail is the first in a series of free content drops for Cairn, offering new climbing locations and challenges as players follow the trail of a legendary climber. The extra content will offer players three new climbing areas to tackle, including the addition of water soloing, allowing you to climb over bodies of water without falling to your death. Plus, Marco will be playable alongside Aava.

Cairn sees players controlling professional mountaineer, Aava, who has taken on the mammoth task of being the first person to reach the summit of Mount Kami. Set from a third-person perspective, Cairn has players navigating the mountain by reading the rock face to chart their climbing routes, manually positioning each of Aava’s limbs while she climbs, while placing pitons to serve as checkpoints.
