Directive 8020 Trailer Highlights PS5 Pro Extras Including PSSR And Advanced Ray-Tracing
SuperMassive Games has released a spine-chilling new trailer for Directive 8020 that highlights the various extra bells and whistles afforded by the PS5 Pro, including the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR, although Sony’s blog post doesn’t specific if it’s the standard or upgraded version of the tech).
In addition to the sharper visuals affords by PSSR, PS5 Pro owners will also be able to soak up dynamic shadows and advanced ray-tracing effects thanks to the power of Sony’s high-end console. That’s not to say say it won’t probably look fantastic on the base PS5 too, but if you have a PS5 Pro, you’re really going to benefit from some visual splendour.

Directive 8020 is scheduled to launch for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on May 12, 2026, and take place as Earth is on the brink of dying, with humans given a small glimmer of hope in the form of Tau Ceti f, located some 12 light years away. As such, Cassiopeia, a colony ship, embarks on the long journey but ends up crash landing on arrival, with the survivors soon discovering that they are not along — an alien organism is stalking the crew, and is capable of mimicking anyone.
