CyberSafe Bad Connection | Minecraft

Digital safety in a digital age
As we spend more time online playing games, socializing, and exploring all kinds of worlds, it’s become more important than ever to know how to spot risks and make safe decisions. To put it bluntly, it’s not only about strong passwords anymore; it’s about understanding that we’re all part of an online community, where respect and trust must be our guiding principles.
And that’s where CyberSafe: Bad Connection? comes into play, preparing players and families to use technology such as online games and AI in a safe and positive way.
A safe story
Bad Connection? unfolds as an interactive story where you’ll enter a public multiplayer game. So far, so good, right? But things are about to change.
In the first part, you’ll meet two new friends: one cautious and the other a bit more reckless. Players will then learn how to spot early warning signs of online dangers, like suspicious gifts or chat invites that might come with certain risks.
In part two, players must navigate the sometimes treacherous and tricky online game chats, trying to figure out if a fellow classmate is truthful or not, and handle a stranger who sends them fake images and messages. The key to success here is to learn how to verify information, resist pressure, and use reporting tools.
In the third and last part, players need to use everything they’ve learnt and employ their newly acquired skills that’s not just to be used in the CyberSafe lesson, but in the real world, too. This final bit will reveal the consequences of safe versus risky decisions.
