Analyst Predicts CD Projekt RED Could Spend Up To 0 Million On The Witcher IV

The Witcher IV developer CD Projekt RED could spend up to $800 million on the upcoming fantasy-RPG, according to Noble Securities Analyst Mateusz Chrzanowski.

The analyst predicts that The Witcher IV could cost the Polish studio PLN 1.4 billion ($388 million), with spending totalling a similar amount, bringing the total just shy of $800 million. Furthermore, they commented that the budget of the trilogy has increased from PLN 2.1 billion ($583 million) to PLN 3.2 billion ($861 million).

The Witcher IV has yet to attract a release date but CDPR has confirmed it will not see the light of day until after 2026. Back in November last year, CDPR revealed during its latest earnings report that the studio has nearly 450 staffers working on The Witcher IV, and recently hired a former Warhorse Studios developer, Karl Kolmann, as the game’s senior quest designer.

While the previous games followed Geralt of Rivia as its main character, The Witcher IV will instead hand the main role over to Ciri. The character has also been recast, with Jo Wyatt replaced by Ciara Berkeley. In terms of technical achievements, CDPR has said that it is aiming to hit 60 FPS with ray-tracing enabled when running the game on PS5.
